Rock 'n' Roll San Antonio: Road closures for this weekend's races

SAN ANTONIO — Thousands of runners will take to the downtown, north-side and east-side areas of San Antonio this weekend in the return of the Rock 'n' Roll series, one of the most popular running events in the country. 

The 5K and 10K races, scheduled for Saturday, will keep road closures mostly confined to downtown. Sunday's longer-distance races, however -- the marquee half-marathon and marathon events -- will extend closures further north and east. 

Here's which streets will be closed, where and for how long. Closures affect whole stretches of road, shutting down traffic in both directions, unless noted otherwise.

For those running this weekend, packet pickup is scheduled to take place at the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center (Halls 4A and 4B) from noon to 7 p.m. on Friday and from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday. 

The 5K and 10K races will start at 7:30 a.m. Saturday, while the gun will go off for the half-marathon and marathon races at 7 a.m. Sunday. Time limits of seven hours for marathon participants; four hours for the half-marathon; two hours for the 10K; and one hour for the 5K have been set.
