SAFD: Fire at building north of downtown under investigation

The battalion chief said nobody was found inside or around the building and no injuries were reported.

SAN ANTONIO — An investigation is underway to determine how a fire started at a building just north of downtown.

San Antonio firefighters responded to the 400 block of Hildebrand Avenue around 9:10 p.m. for reports of a structure fire.

When crews arrived, they were met with flames coming from the back of the building. They worked quickly and were able to extinguish the fire.

The battalion chief said nobody was found inside or around the building and no injuries were reported.

No word on the estimated damages caused by the fire, but officials say the damage was moderate.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
