The San Antonio Fire Department said an “electrical fire involving an outlet and fan” caused $25,000 in damages at a south-side school Monday evening.
SAFD responded to a fire in the 1500 block of Gillette Boulevard at Abraham Kazen Middle School at 7:51 p.m. Monday.
Fifteen fire trucks responded to the scene where “thick black smoke” was coming from the school’s gym.
Firefighters forced their way into the gym in attempt to fight the blaze.
They were able to contain the fire before 9 p.m.
There haven’t been any reports of any injuries as a result of the fire.
