San Antonio 110 9/11 Memorial Climb | Hundreds paying tribute to first responders who sacrificed their lives on 9/11

This is one of the largest 9/11 memorial climbs in the country and world.

SAN ANTONIO — As we observe the anniversary of 9/11, the San Antonio 110 9/11 Memorial Climb is once again happening at the Tower of the Americas Wednesday morning.

Hundreds in the community will be able to pay tribute to the first responders who sacrificed their lives to save others on that day back in 2001.

This is one of the largest 9/11 memorial climbs in the country and world.

The ceremony begins at 8 a.m. for everyone to start the climb. First responders will have top priority to carry a tag for one of the fallen responders.

Each tag represents the 343 firefighters, 70 officers, and 9 EMS personnel and will be taken through the tower twice to reach and exceed the 110 floors of the World Trade Center.

Once the climbs are done, each tag will be placed on an accountability board when finished.

There are other symbolic moments and events represents in this event to pay respect and honor lives lost in 9/11

There's also a gathering after the climb at Smoke Skybar on East Crockett Street from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Remember that parking is limited at the Tower of the Americas.
