SAN ANTONIO — A report from the Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America has ranked San Antonio as one of the five most challenging places to live with spring allergies this year.
The AAFA says they looked at three important factors when determining their list: pollen and mold counts, allergy medication usage, and availability of board-certified allergists.
The Alamo City wasn't the only Texas town featured on the list. McAllen took the top spot as the worst place to live with allergies this spring.
According to the AAFA, McAllen ranks as the "top Spring Allergy Capital" due in part to its higher than average pollen count and higher than average medicine use. The AAFA also says that board-certified allergists are less available in McAllen.
Louisville, KY; Jackson MS; and Memphis, TN ranked second, third, and fourth, respectively.
The AAFA says that allergy-sufferers can visit their website for allergy treatment tips.
