Beat the heat this summer for $15 or less at some popular San Antonio spots

As temperatures begin to rise in the triple digits plenty of San Antonians will be looking for options to enjoy the summer indoors or poolside.

SAN ANTONIO — School is out for summer and the heat has arrived to San Antonio! Whether you want to celebrate this season with family or friends there are plenty of things to do in the Alamo City to escape the heat. 

As temperatures rise into triple digits plenty of San Antonians will be looking for good options to enjoy the summer either indoors or poolside. 

Here's a list of fun spots the whole family will enjoy:

Bowling and arcades - Nothing says summer like a day of bowling at San Antonio's multiple locations. Whether you want to bowl as a couple or bring the family this activity is a good way to take a break indoors. In fact, many bowling spots around the city have arcade games and laser tag to enjoy as well. 

Some bowling alleys have special prices on certain days such as Main Event with their Monday Night Madness with all you can play activities or games for $12.99 per person, according to their website

Movies and arcades: There are tons of summer movies to enjoy this season including Inside Out 2, Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes, Twisters and that you can comfortably enjoy in the Air Conditioning. Regal says they will have one dollar family movie days that will run from June 11 to August 7. 

Santikos will also be showing family movies for free on Tuesdays and Wednesdays at 10 a.m. The theater chain will also provide $4.99 movies on Super Tuesdays that will feature the special price on food, games, movie tickets and even a selection of alcoholic beverages. 

City swimming pools: There are 24 free public outdoor pools that will open on Saturday, June 15 through mid-August. The city will also bring Wibit inflatable pool obstacle courses to the Normoyle Park Pool on July 13 and to the Fairchild Park Pool on July 27, according to their website

The pools will be opening May 11, and will be open every weekend.

Free events at public libraries: Travel anywhere you let your imagination take you in a good book. San Antonio public libraries will also have plenty of fun events for your friends and family to attend throughout the season. 

Experience a magician during Illusions by Blake on June 17 at the Collins Garden Library at 2 p.m. or meet exotic animals during the library's Happy Trails events that will take place on select dates beginning June 13. The Happy Trails events will take place outside but only for one hour at various libraries. 

Indoor miniature golf: San Antonio has a couple of options when it comes to indoor mini-golf with some days offering special deals. Monster Mini Golf is a blacklight monsterous experience offers two rounds of mini-golf for $10 and an arcade game card for $14.99. Then if you want to keep the party going this place offers laser tag and a laser maze. 

Another place that has two indoor miniature golf experiences one jungle themed and the other a cave lit with black light is at AR's Entertainment Hub. Here the black light mini-golf is only $11.99 for unlimited games. 

Roller skating: If you're ready to be active but don't want to sweat in the heat then roller skating is the way to go. Skateland East will host $10.00 admission on Thursdays and $15.00 on Friday when they have their special Glo Day. Skateland West will offer public skating times for less than $10 with a special deal on Thursdays at only $6.47 and $1 for parents who come in with their child.

Stars and Stripes Salute Concert: This Friday, July 5 at Alamo Plaza, the U.S. Air Force Rock Band along with the Children’s Chorus of San Antonio, Opera San Antonio and Youth Orchestra of San Antonio will all be featured in the inaugural Stars and Stripes Salute concert.
