Security changes made to SA Jewish community center amid ongoing crisis in Israel

The local Jewish facility says the community can help victims in Israel with the Israel Crisis Fund.

SAN ANTONIO — New security measures are being taken at a local Jewish facility as their partners are providing information about how the community can help victims amid the ongoing crisis in Israel.

The local Jewish facility says the community can help victims in Israel with the Israel Crisis Fund. This was created in an effort to help organizations on the ground, trying to support families.

On their website they have also identified urgent items such as food, medical supplies and more.

JFSA says the fund will provide immediate cash grants to families who have been impacted by the acts of terror and violence for post-trauma care.

The Jewish Federation is making this plea at a time when safety is a concern for them and their partner organizations.

On social media, The Barshop Jewish Community Center of San Antonio posted security changes to their campus on Northwest Military where certain areas will be closed to the public.

The following is their statement:

"While there is currently no credible threat to our city or the Campus, as the situation has intensified globally, we believe this is an appropriate change. We will reassess and adjust this change as needed."
