SAN ANTONIO — San Antonio Police responded to a call about a shooting on the city’s northeast side Sunday afternoon.
According to SAPD Sgt. Bobby Bradley, officers arrived at an apartment complex on the 8800 block of Starcrest Drive at around 2 p.m. and found a 23-year-old man with a gunshot wound to his stomach.
Sgt. Bradley said a fight broke out after another man believed to be associated with the victim’s girlfriend came to the apartment where the victim and his girlfriend live. That’s when the girlfriend’s 53-year-old mother shot the victim once in the stomach and fled the scene.
Police have not located or identified the suspect. When she is located, police say she could face aggravated assault charges.
The victim was taken to BAMC and his condition is unknown at this time.
This is a developing story.
