Police searching for suspect who stabbed man at east-side park

The victim told police the attack was not provoked and he did not know the suspect.

SAN ANTONIO — Police are searching for a suspect who attacked a man at an east-side park, leaving him bleeding from a cut to his neck.

San Antonio Police found the victim around 9 p.m. Sunday night bleeding on a bench in Pittman-Sullivan Park on the 1100 block of Iowa Street near Martin Luther King Drive.

SAPD Patrol officer said that bystanders had reported the victim, a man in his 30s, laying on the bench bleeding from a cut on his neck.

The victim told officers the attack by a stranger was not provoked in any way. Some sort of sharp object was used in the attack, but police did not specify what it was.

The victim was taken to BAMC with non life-threatening injuries.

Police said the suspect fled from the location following the attack, before officers arrived.

The only description provided by police was that the suspect was a man. No other information was provided.
