SAPD: Ex-lover threatened to kill him and new girlfriends children, then sets his truck on fire

Police say the woman was caught on camera filling up a gas can and then driving towards the home where the truck was destroyed.

SAN ANTONIO — A man's truck is a total loss and San Antonio Police say an ex-lover is to blame.

The incident happened on July 22 at a home in the 1200 block of Virginia Boulevard, near East Commerce.

Authorities say they were called to the home for a truck fire, when they arrived they say there were heavy flames. Firefighters were able to extinguish the fire, but flames did spread to the home and destroyed the carport it was under.

They also say the fire spread to a neighbors home. Arson detectives were able to determine the fire was intentionally set.

The truck's owner showed police threatening text messages from his ex-lover, 39-year-old Crystal Dawn Campos, sent hours before and after the truck was destroyed.

Police say the victim was able to provide them with a description of the vehicle Campos drives. Investigators there were able to get video from a Circle K just two minutes away from the home where the truck was set on fire.

Authorities say in the video, Campos is obviously upset and seen filling up a gas can and putting it into her car. She is then seen heading in the direction of the home minutes before the truck was destroyed, that's according to police.

Campos was arrested and booked into the Bexar County Jail. She is facing a second degree felony arson charge.
