SAPD searching for man suspected of committing family violence-related assault

Police responded to reports of a disturbance in the 1200 block of Patricia Drive early Tuesday afternoon.

SAN ANTONIO — San Antonio Police are searching for a man who is suspected of assaulting a woman at a north-side apartment complex.

Police responded to a call from a neighbor about a disturbance in the 1200 block of Patricia Drive around 12:15 p.m. Tuesday.

Police at the scene said the incident was family violence-related.

A man is suspected of assaulting a woman who is believed to be his significant other, police say.

The woman was able to leave the apartment, and the man was initially believed to be somewhere in the apartment complex.

Authorities believe he is armed. There was heavy police presence at the apartment complex, including SWAT.

Police say the suspect was not found at the apartment complex.

A police spokesman said the suspect is a black male in his early 30s.

Police believe this was an isolated incident and say there is no threat to the public at this time.

Nonetheless, at the time of the incident nearby residents and neighbors were asked to remain in their homes.

KENS 5 has a crew on the scene and we are working to gather more information.
