Whataburger employee accidentally drives into restaurant, SAPD says; no one injured

It happened shortly before 3 p.m. on the far southwest side.

SAN ANTONIO — A San Antonio police sergeant says an employee of a southwest-side Whataburger may have mixed up his brakes and gas pedal when he drove into the restaurant while arriving for work Thursday afternoon.

No one was injured in the collision, which caused the car to visibly break through the Whataburger's walls into a restroom in the area of Southwest Loop 410 and State Highway 16. Police said the employee, believed to be about 18 years old, told officers he had faulty brakes, resulting in the whatanaccident.
