SAPD bike patrol says suspect stabbed man in neck, then tried to carjack another man

The stabbing victim was taken to BAMC for his injuries.

SAN ANTONIO — San Antonio bike patrol officers say a suspect stabbed a man in the neck, then tried to carjack another man in downtown San Antonio early Sunday morning.

It happened just after midnight in the 300 block of East Travis Street near Navarro Street.

Officers were initially dispatched for reports of a suspect cutting a 31-year-old man in the neck with a piece of ceramic tile, then running off. That victim was taken to BAMC for his injuries.

Minutes later, police located the 34-year-old suspect after he tried to carjack a 65-year-old man on Soledad Street at East Houston Street.

The suspect was detained by officers and taken into custody for further questioning.

No other injuries were reported.
