Police investigating after man sent to hospital following altercation at south side bar

Investigators say it all started when the victim and other family members were kicked out of a nearby bar.

SAN ANTONIO — A woman fired off shots at a man who police say attacked her brother with a baseball bat after leaving a south side bar early Sunday morning.

It happened just before 2 a.m. off the 4800 block of South Flores Street near Pleasanton Road and East Southcross.

Investigators say it all started when the victim and other family members were kicked out of a nearby bar.

When the family members left the bar, a man followed them. And when the group pulled over, that suspect attacked one of the men with a baseball bat. Police say the victim's sister pulled out a gun and shot at the suspect.

The victim was rushed to the hospital in stable condition.

No other injuries were reported.

Police say the suspect got away and they are still searching for him.

If you saw something, call San Antonio Police.
