SAN ANTONIO — San Antonio police are investigating an alleged attempted robbery that took place at West End Park in the 1400 block of N Hamilton Avenue on Saturday night.

SAPD and San Antonio Park Police contacted the four victims involved who told the officers that an unknown male suspect approached them as they were playing soccer and threatened to shoot them if they did not hand over their phones.

The victims, between the ages of 16 to 21-years-old, told police that the suspect had a jacket wrapped around his hand and pointed it toward them in a threatening manner, but no gun was ever seen.

Police say the victims fought back against the suspect, in which he fled the scene without any stolen property.

This is an ongoing investigation.
