SAN ANTONIO — Police say a man is lucky to have survived a crash near downtown that split his car in half.
It happened around 3:30 a.m. Monday in the 100 block of Panama Avenue near South Presa Street.
The victim, a man in his late 20s or early 30s, was taken to University Hospital with some scratches and bruises.
Police believe the man may have been speeding when he jumped the curb and crashed into a tree, splitting his car into two pieces. There weren't any passengers in the car with him.
This is a developing story.
