It happened around 9:45 p.m. in the 4600 block of Belinda Lee Street near South WW White Road.

When officers arrived, they found the victim, a man in his 50s, with a gunshot wound to his head. The bullet did not penetrate his skull, exiting the back of his head, according to police. He was taken to BAMC in stable condition.

Police tell us he was shot in the head inside of his own home.

Investigators say someone allegedly confronted the victim over another person believed to be staying at the house. At some point, the situation escalated and the man was shot in the head.

The suspect did take off in a car but police could not tell us what kind of vehicle it was.

And at last check, the shooter has not been found.

This area of the east side has been the scene of a couple other shootings in nearly two years.

The most recent one from 2023 involved a 13-year-old boy getting hurt during a drive by shooting. It’s unclear if any arrests were ever made in that case.

As for what happened this time, police tell us its remains under investigation.
