SAN ANTONIO — A man was shot at a gas station on the south side of town early Monday afternoon, according to police.
Officers responded just after 11 a.m. near Goliad Road and Southeast Military Drive to a call for a shooting in progress.
A witness told police they believe an AR-15 rifle was used in the shooting. The victim, a 43-year-old male, was taken to the hospital for his injuries and is in stable condition.
Police were able to match the 32-year-old suspect and the vehicle involved based on a description from a witness.
That suspect has been detained by police while investigators work to determine a motive.
Police say the incident was likely a targeted ambush after determining that the victim and suspect knew each other.
Officers have not yet recovered the weapon used.
