SAN ANTONIO — A man is dead after police say he was hit by a truck on the south side of town while trying to run across the street.
It happened just before 10 p.m. Monday in the 1400 block of Del Lago Parkway near Roosevelt Avenue on the south side of town.
Police say the victim, Vincent Cardenas, 27, had just gotten out of his mother's vehicle when he tried to run across the street. He was hit by a driver in a white pickup truck.
The victim was taken to University Hospital in critical condition. He died from his injuries.
That driver did stop and is not expected to face any charges.
