SAPD searching for suspect who hit pedestrian and failed to stop

The victim was taken to the hospital in stable condition.

SAN ANTONIO — Police are searching for a suspect who hit a pedestrian on the east side of town early Sunday morning, and failed to stop and help them.

San Antonio Police responded to the intersection of Austin Street at 9th Street around 2:23 a.m. for reports of a hit and run accident.

Officers were at the location at an unrelated accident when they witnessed a red truck driving through the intersection and hitting a pedestrian. The driver of the truck drove off immediately following the incident.

Officers tried to stop the driver but lost sight of the truck after the driver got onto the highway.

Police say they are currently searching for a red Ford truck.

The victim was taken to the hospital in stable condition.

Police say when they catch the driver, they will face multiple charges. No other injuries were reported.

This is a developing story.
