Despite a second professional sports championship for the Alamo City, there are no plans to honor the team with their own public celebration.
Scorpions fans are wondering if they will even get one.
"We just won an NASL Championship and we were so excited," exclaimed Scorpions fan James Hope.
The Scorpions topped the Strikers, of Ft. Lauderdale 2 to 1 with the help of a dramatic bicycle kick.
"It's a championship! San Antonio is a championship city and we want to show off our San Antonio Scorpions," Hope said.
He is president of "the Crocketeers," a fan club that supports soccer in the city and the Scorpions.
He says this team deserves a championship celebration, thrown by the city, similar what the Spurs got.
"Invite the crowd up and really just be able to give one last celebration."
He even took to twitter and lobbied Mayor Ivy Taylor.
She congratulated the team on her Facebook page, but Scorpions fans want more.
"We'd love to see the city of San Antonio step up, do a presentation somewhere, Alamo Plaza or Maybe STAR Soccer complex, right next to Morgan's Wonderland."
The team will be honored by City Council and members will be part of the Christmas river parade in late November.
Their championship comes as San Antonio pursues a bid for a Major League Soccer expansion team.
There is one slot right now.
Scorpions fans hope this championship helps its case with MLS executives that San Antonio shoots and scores when it comes to supporting soccer.
