SAN ANTONIO — A major collision involving an 18-wheeler has caused lane closures in Seguin Wednesday afternoon, officials said.

Authorities said an 18-wheeler traveling eastbound on I-10 lost control and jackknifed which caused the truck tractor to fall into a creek below and catch fire.

The driver was able to escape and was transported to a local hospital. Officials said he did not appear to have life threatening injuries.

No other injuries were reported.

Seguin Police said the trailer is currently blocking both eastbound lanes near the 610 mile marker. They advise drivers to seek alternate routes.

First responders are working to clear the scene.

Authorities did not provide any other information.
