Seguin community holds vigil to honor Chloe Belicek's life

Chloe Belicek was a rising senior at Seguin High School who died after a car crash in San Marcos

SEGUIN, Texas — Family and friends in Seguin are holding each other close this weekend as they remember Chloe Belicek and the impact she had on others.

She died from a car crash on Wednesday in San Marcos.

She was a 17-year-old student athlete about to enter senior year at Seguin High School.

Fearless, dedicated, and a true matador are a few words many in Seguin have used to describe Chloe Belicek.

On Saturday, St. James Catholic Church held a vigil and mass service this afternoon to honor her legacy.

Belicek attended St. James Catholic School from kindergarten to 8th grade.

St. James Catholic School Principal April Synder released a statement saying "Chloe was a beautiful soul who shared her love and kindness with everyone she met. She will truly be missed by her family and community."

Chloe’s parents, Chrissy and Brian Belicek say they're grateful for the support.

"There's not enough words. There really isn't to say thank you and how much we love everyone," said Chrissy Belicek.

St. James Catholic Church has created the Chloe Strong Memorial Fund so anyone can donate towards the funeral.

To donate you can call (830) 401-1100 or stop at First United Bank.

The church is also doing a gift card drive to help the family.

The Beliceks are asking for privacy as they grieve and make funeral arrangements.
