Sixth victim identified in Wedgwood apartment fire

Four days after a deadly fire claimed the lives of six people at the Wedgwood Senior Apartments, the sixth victim was identified.
Originally, five people were killed and 18 others were transported to hospitals after a three-alarm fire broke out at the Wedgwood Senior Apartments in the 6700 block of Blanco Road on Sunday morning.

SAN ANTONIO -- Four days after a deadly fire claimed the lives of six people at the Wedgwood Senior Apartments, the sixth victim was identified Thursday morning.

The Bexar County Medical Examiner's Office confirmed Molly Urban, 75, died from smoke inhalation.

Originally, five people were killed and 18 others were transported to hospitals after a three-alarm fire broke out at the Wedgwood Senior Apartments in the 6700 block of Blanco Road on Sunday morning.

Wednesday night BCME confirmed the death of Ramon Villarreal, 85, as the fifth victim due to smoke and soot inhalation, complicating his atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease.

Wednesday afternoon BCME identified Charlene Lowry, 71, as the fourth victim who died of pneumonia and atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease on Tuesday at the Northeast Baptist Hospital.

The third victim was identified Wednesday morning as Anita Woodson, 75. The BCME ruled her cause of death as smoke inhalation.

On Monday BCME identified Jose O. Gonzales, 73, and Karen Rae Betz, 74, as the first two victims, both due to smoke inhalation.
