Almost 90 two-acre homesites planned for development next to famous Southfork Ranch mansion, site of TV show 'Dallas'

The real estate developer behind the plans has owned Southfork Ranch since October 2022, and says it has worked to improve the historic parts of the 241-acre site.

PARKER, Texas — The North Texas real estate developer that owns Southfork Ranch -- the famous site of the iconic television show "Dallas" -- has presented its plans to local municipalities to build 89 two-acre estate lots on the land beside the mansion where the  fictitious Ewing family once lived.

The Farmers Branch-based Centurion American Development Group has owned Southfork Ranch since October 2022, and it now plans to build a "luxury homesites" throughout the 241-acre property.

The development team presented its vision for the future of Southfork Ranch at the City of Parker's Planning & Zoning Commission meeting on Thursday, where their plans were approved by a unanimous vote.

A 36.7-acre parcel containing the Southfork Mansion, its event center and its visitors center, as well as a newly built rodeo arena, is not included within the development plans.

“We’ve spent the past two years working to improve the Southfork Ranch site,” said Sean Terry, Centurion American’s vice president of entitlements in a press release touting the results of the vote. “We have long-term improvement plans to ensure that visitors can enjoy the history of Southfork Ranch for generations to come."

Centurion American will next present its plans to the Parker City Council for a final sign-off.

Should the plans pass council, development timelines and contracted builders will be announced in the coming months, a Centurion American spokesperson said.

In addition to its long-term real estate plans, the Southfork Ranch team also recently announced a robust calendar of events for Fall 2024, including a barbecue and music festival and a "micro wrestling" event.
