SAN ANTONIO — The owner of a locally-owned window cleaning business is offering a monetary reward to the person who has information leading to the recovery of a power washer and trailer that were stolen early Wednesday morning.
“In 12 years that we’ve had this business, we strive to just provide excellence. When something like that happens to you at least to me, I just felt totally violated,” said Daniel Robbins, owner of Squeaky Dan’s.
The incident happened in the backlot of Squeaky Dan’s in the 8000 block of Tradeway Street.
Multiple cameras captured the thieves in action during the 5 a.m. hour on Wednesday. Some of the cameras belong to Squeaky Dan’s next-door neighbor. Not even an automated verbal warning blaring from the security camera scared the two individuals from carrying out their mission.
“Nothing was going to stop them,” Robbins said. “It was crazy.”
It took between eight to 10 minutes for the thieves to take of with the power washer and trailer, which were purchased one week ago.
“They take our rig off of one of our trucks, they pull it out, they attach it to theirs, damage the truck trying to pull it out,” Robbins said. “One of the guys was wearing a reflecting vest with slides on. The other gentleman I think he had pants on and a white t-shirt.”
The minor dent in business has forced Squeaky Dan’s reschedule services for customers.
“They’re San Antonians, everybody’s just so sweet. They’re all understanding. We’re not going to lose the business but we’re certainly not going to get the revenue from yesterday, today, tomorrow," he said.
As for the stolen equipment, Robbins has faith in the community.
Squeaky Dan’s is offering a $1,000 reward to the person who finds the power washer and trailer. The office manager’s direct line is 210-965-5122.
