A coach at South San High school resigned after being placed on leave for reportedly sending a student inappropriate text messages, according to spokesman Ed Suarez for the school district.
The school district said the coach was Victor Ramirez and had been with the school district since 2007 as a P.E. and assistant football coach.
The district said it investigated the reports the coach was sending a student inappropriate text messages to a female student.
After the report was confirmed, he was placed on leave Tuesday, according to Suarez. The coach turned in his resignation Wednesday.
So far, no criminal charges have been filed, Suarez said. The district has notified the State Board of Educator Certification, which will red flag the coach if he applies for future teaching jobs.
