Stabbing victim assaults officer trying to investigate, police say

Police said the man was stabbed in the chest on East Southcross around 3:15 a.m.

SAN ANTONIO — A man acting erratically after being stabbed assaulted a police officer who was trying to investigate early Thursday morning, SAPD said.

Police said the man was stabbed in the chest on East Southcross around 3:15 a.m.

When officers arrived on the scene, the man reportedly started acting erratic and punched an officer in the eye. The other responding officers used a Taser on the man and detained him. He was taken to the hospital where he is currently in stable condition.

There is no word on a possible stabbing suspect or what led up to the stabbing.
