Stolen KIA recovered following incident with juvenile suspects

Officials called off the chase, but then a few minutes later a call came in for some "guys running around with guns" nearby.

SAN ANTONIO — What started out at as a police chase ended with a stolen KIA being recovered as well as some guns on the northeast side of town Wednesday morning.

Bexar County Constables with Precinct 2 noticed a car with it's hatch open and asked them to pull over using their car's PA system and close the hatchback. The driver of the car took off and officials began the chase around 8 a.m. Officials called off the chase, but then a few minutes later a call came in for some "guys running around with guns" nearby.

Officers went to that scene and a 15-year-old suspect was taken into custody at gun point. That suspect had a handgun.

Another suspect took off into a wooded area and authorities believe he had an AR rifle style gun. Two other suspects, possibly juveniles, are still on the run.

All suspects had the "Marbach haircut," according to police.

Authorities were able to recover a KIA that had been stolen from the Bulverde Rd and LP 1604 area Wednesday morning. The KIA's steering column had been broken.

This is an ongoing investigation.
