SAPD Chief William McManus said police previously have been to the home several times for calls involving mental health issues.

SAN ANTONIO — One man has died and one woman has been sent to the hospital in critical condition after being found with gunshot wounds on Tuesday morning at a Stone Oak area home, San Antonio Police said.

The incident occurred in a neighborhood near Cheyenne Creek around 9:45 a.m. Tuesday.

SAPD Chief William McManus said three people were in the home, including a wife, husband and daughter, with two people found shot.

46-year-old Joseph Hines was found dead with a gunshot wound, and his 23-year-old daughter also sustained a gunshot wound, he said. The daughter was in critical condition at a San Antonio hospital.

McManus said police have been out to the home several times for different calls involving mental health issues, plus one call for a disturbance.

The man's 45-year-old wife was able to get out of the house without injury, police said.

Officials said one weapon was found at the scene and there is no danger to the neighborhood.
