CLEVELAND, Texas — While the Houston area is dealing with the aftermath of destructive and deadly storms, other parts of Southeast Texas are dealing with high water. In Liberty County, that led to a high-water rescue early Saturday morning.
The Tarkington Volunteer Fire Department helped out the Cleveland Fire Department on that high-water rescue. They rescued three firefighters and two civilians who were on a rescue boat that fire officials said got swept away by strong currents.
According to the Tarkington Volunteer Fire Department, everyone made it to safety.
The Tarkington Volunteer Fire Department posted photos of the rescue on their Facebook page.
