SAN ANTONIO — Multiple emergency crews were called to an apartment fire on the northwest side Saturday night, officials say.
The San Antonio Fire Department responded to the Tarry Towne Apartments on Vance Jackson Road around 9 p.m.
Officials say firefighters battled heavy smoke and flames coming from the roof of one of the apartment buildings. The fire made its way into the attic and continued spreading. All residents were evacuated from the 12 affected units and nearby buildings. Two residents were originally unaccounted for but have since been located.
One person was treated for smoke inhalation and a cat was also rescued, officials say.
Firefighters will remain on scene until it is fully cleared.
Fire officials did not say how many units were impacted or what caused the fire.
No injuries were reported.
This is a developing story.
