SAN ANTONIO — A teen is dead after police said say he was ambushed and shot while with his girlfriend on the west side of town late Tuesday night.
San Antonio Police responded to the 5600 block of Culebra Road near Callaghan Road around 9:25 p.m. for reports of a shooting in progress.
When officers arrived at the location they found an 18-year-old man with a gunshot wound.
Police say the teen and his girlfriend were going back to her apartment on Culebra Road to drop off some things from a shopping trip. When they got to her apartment, she got out of the car and that is when police say the shots were fired at them.
She dove back into the vehicle and was ether grazed by a bullet or scratched by glass. The teen boy was struck by a bullet and killed.
Police say that two men in black were seen running away from the scene following the shooting.
This is a developing story.
