Teen drowns after jumping fence to enter closed city pool, Houston Parks and Rec says

The pool had already been closed for the season.

HOUSTON — A teen drowned in a city pool that had already been closed for the season on Saturday, according to a spokesperson for the City of Houston Parks and Recreation Department.

It happened at the Tuffly Community Center on Russell Street near Collingsworth Street and Broyles Street in Houston's Fifth Ward.

The city's parks and recreation department said the teen jumped the fence to get inside.

It is unknown what led to the drowning.
