SAN ANTONIO — Both San Antonio Police and a northwest-side school confirm they are looking into allegations made by a young girl about an alleged sexual assault on campus.
The investigation involves the IDEA Hidden Meadow campus on Culebra Road just inside Loop 1604.
The allegations surfaced March 3, when a young girl made an outcry about a troubling incident at the IDEA Hidden Meadow campus.
We are not using comments from the relative who provided information to protect the identity of the young girl.
The San Antonio Police report related to the complaint states that a teenaged girl is accusing a teen boy of sexually assaulting her on campus.
Police confirm they are investigating.
A spokesman for the school confirms the probe as well, providing us with the following statement about what they call allegations of misconduct:
“At IDEA Public Schools, the safety of our students and staff is our top priority. IDEA Hidden Meadow is aware of allegations of misconduct involving an individual on campus. We are conducting an internal investigation in partnership with local law enforcement and have reported the incident in accordance with state and district policies. As this is an ongoing investigation, all further questions should be directed to law enforcement.”
The relative of the victim claims while the investigation is underway, both students remain on campus, a situation they call frightening, for fear of retaliation.
Neither police nor the school would comment about the possibility of other cases related to this allegation.
KENS 5 will follow along to see where the investigation leads.
