Teen motorcyclist critically injured when driver turns left in front of him, police say

The driver of the Nissan remained at the scene, and cooperated with police.

SAN ANTONIO — A motorcyclist was critically injured when a driver turned left in front of them, causing him to crash into the side of their vehicle, police say.

It happened around 10:08 p.m. at the intersection of Highway 151 and West Loop 1604.

Police say the 17-year-old victim was riding a silver 2023 Aprilia motorcycle traveling southeast on Highway 151 approaching the intersection at West Loop 1604 N. That's when the driver of a silver 2021 Nissan Murano, who was traveling northwest on Highway 151, turned left in front of the motorcyclist. 

The teen on the motorcycle crashed into the passenger side of the Nissan. He was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries. 

The driver of the Nissan remained at the scene, and cooperated with police. They were evaluated for DWI but found not to be intoxicated. No charges are pending at this time.

At last check the victim remains in critical condition. 

This case remains under investigation.
