SAN ANTONIO — The New Braunfels Police Department said a 55-year-old man was taken to a hospital in serious but stable condition after he was allegedly slashed with a machete during a road rage altercation with an unknown suspect on Monday.
The victim was involved in what police described as a “rolling disturbance” with a driver of another vehicle. That’s when police say both men exited their vehicles and the unknown suspect allegedly confronted the victim with a machete-type knife.
Police say they are searching for the suspect who is described as an older male with gray hair who left the scene in a light-colored four-door pickup truck.
The victim, who suffered a slash wound to his upper body, was transported to a hospital in Kyle where he remains in serious but stable condition.
Anyone with information is urged to contact New Braunfels Police or Comal County Crime Stoppers at 830-620-8477. Information leading to an arrest is eligible for a reward of up to $4,000.
