SAN ANTONIO — The Texas Department of Public Safety discovered several migrants hidden inside an abandoned tanker truck in Webb County Thursday afternoon, according to a social media post by a Texas DPS spokesperson.
Special agents with the Criminal Investigation Division and troopers noticed a white tanker truck was left abandoned at a gas station in north Laredo around 4 p.m.
Agents searched the truck and discovered 24 migrants hiding inside the tractor trailer. There were 23 men and one woman in the group.
This discovery is part of Operation Lone Star, an ongoing border initiative from Governor Abbott's administration.
No other information was provided.
