We’re highlighting concessionaires you should drop by if you have an appetite that’s sky-high!

SAN ANTONIO — When you think of the State Fair of Texas it’s impossible to not think of the food. There are dozens of savory concoctions. Whether you want something salty, sweet or something in between, KENS 5 is taking a bite out of delectable treats that will be hard to beat.

Crowd favorite: Fletcher's Corny Dogs has a 82-year-long legacy in Dallas. Third generation co-owner Amber Fletcher says her family’s customer service is just as important as the tasty food.

“My dad always said that the tradition is what kept people coming back," Fletcher said. "But I also think that it was really good corny dogs.”

If you’re in the mood for a drumstick that falls off the bone, Milton's Concessions should be your next stop. Gracie Whitley is the co-owner.

“Our regulars, they’ll come up and say ‘Oh I want that one. Oh I want that one,’" Whitley said. "Like they’re picking their lobster out of a tank because they want to make sure they get the biggest and the juiciest one there is.”

Repping 55 years of heritage is the family-run business: Fernie's Funnel Cakes. Johnna McKee and Christi Erpillo are partners and say their parents wanted to create an inviting atmosphere for anyone wanting a sweet treat.

“Our mom and dad bringing funnel cakes to the State Fair of Texas, the first vendor ever," McKee said. "There’s so much heritage here.”

“Mother and daddy always wanted it to be like we were in like their kitchen in their home dining with them,” Erpillo added.
