SAN ANTONIO — A home on the north side is heavily damaged after a fire that started in the garage Wednesday, fire officials said.
The fire started around 11:30 a.m. in the 14200 block of Brook Hollow.
Fire crews say the homeowner started Thanksgiving cooking and plugged in an oven in the garage. Just a short while later, the entire garage was engulfed in flames. The home had a bedroom above the garage and the floor between them became unstable, crews said.
Fire officials say the left side of the home, including the garage, was destroyed, but the rest of the house was salvageable. There were no injuries from this fire.
This is apparently the second time this home has caught fire, but fire crews say it has been decades since the first fire.
