SAN ANTONIO — The last weekend of October will be a busy one in San Antonio.
From major concerts and Halloween fun to Día de los Muertos kickoff celebrations, there’s a long list to choose from. Here are our top picks for what's happening around town this weekend.
Concerts you won’t want to miss
Perhaps the most anticipated concert happening this weekend is Billy Joel & Sting, who will appear in a one-night-only performance at the Alamodome on Friday. The iconic award-winning musicians will each perform their most beloved songs from throughout their illustrious careers.

The original Jersey Boy himself is still performing on the road at 90 years old, and is set to bring another stellar performance of some of the most unforgettable tunes to the Tobin Center.

Celebrate Day of the Dead
While Dia de los Muertos isn’t until next weekend, San Antonio will kick off its celebrations of the Mexican holiday this weekend.
Hemisfair is the place to be for Muertos Fest. The two-day Día de los Muertos festival is San Antonio’s beloved annual event that continues to grow bigger and better every year.
Featuring over 80 uniquely decorated ofrendas, a procession, five stages of live music, dancers, vendors and more, the 2024 Muertos Fest is a cultural celebration to remember.

Meanwhile, visit La Villita Historic Village for another vibrant weekend-long Day of the Dead celebration.
Enjoy a blend of cultural traditions with live music, altar-building workshops, face painting, and a Grand Altar. Explore the Catrina Artisan Market and the awe-inspiring Giant Alebrije Exhibit. Plus get a photo of the tallest “La Catrina” statue in the United States.
There will be live music performances, food, vendors and nonstop fun activities for the whole family.

You can also bring the family out to San Fernando Cathedral for its inaugural Dia de los Muertos festival happening Saturday. The free event will feature arts and crafts booths, music, food, aguas frescas and more.

Visit Rancho Cortez for a night of Halloween fun
On Friday and Saturday, get in the Halloween spirit at the Spooky Stampede happening at Rancho Cortez out in Bandera.
The family-friendly event features a haunted road, costume contest, graveyard dinner, line dancing and more.

ACS hosts 'Dogtober'
Fall in love with a new companion at the Alamo City’s largest pet adoption fair, the Dogtober Fall Festival, hosted by the City of San Antonio Animal Care Services.
The free event not only offers attendees to take home an adoption-ready pet, but also features live music, a paw-pup vendor market, food trucks, a pumpkin patch, and a pet costume contest and parade.
