SAN ANTONIO — While summer vacation may have reached its end for many, there's still lots of weekend activities for families to unwind as you adjust your weekday schedules for the back-to-school season.

Rock legends bring highly anticipated summer tour to SA

Classic rock fans will fill the Alamodome on Friday as three legendary Rock and Roll Hall of Famers stop by the Alamo City on their summer stadium tour.

Def Leppard and Journey will be joined by Steve Miller Band for an unforgettable night rocking out to some of the most recognizable songs of all time.

Regional Mexican chart-toppers bring tour to Frost Bank Center

If rock and roll is not your vibe, another big-name band of an entirely different genre will also stop in San Antonio this weekend.

The trailblazing música Mexicana band from South Texas Grupo Frontera is set to perform at Frost Bank Center on Saturday as they continue on their "Jugando A Que No Pasa Nada Tour."

A last-minute shopping market for teachers

Calling all San Antonio teachers! SA Local is hosting a back-to-school event to celebrate teachers heading back to the classrooms for the start of another school year.

Teachers can take some time to unwind and do some last-minute, back-to-school shopping at the first annual Boozy Back to School market on Saturday at the Brick at Blue Star.

The first 50 teachers who walk through the door will receive a swag bag.

When: Saturday from 6 to 10 p.m.

Where: Brick at Blue Star (108 Blue Star)

Cost: Free and open to the public

Experience live music under the oaks and stars in the Hill Country

A beloved annual tradition returns to Boerne this weekend where visitors from all over will join together for a night of outdoor musical performances.

The Cibolo Center for Conservation welcomes musical guest Cactus Country to its fourth Moondance Outdoor Concert of the summer as part of its beloved family-friendly concert series that began as a group of friends coming together to tell stories, play music and dance.

Join the community in support of local musicians. There will also be food trucks onsite and delicious cocktails will be available for purchase.

Guests are encouraged to bring their own chairs and ice chests to the event.

When: Saturday from 7 to 10 p.m.

Where: The Cibolo Center for Conservation (140 City Park Road)

Cost: Tickets cost $15 and can be purchased here, children 12 years and under get in for free

Hemisfair begins offering monthly pickleball tournaments

Everyone who hopped on the pickleball craze can look forward to a new opportunity to play and meet other like-minded locals.

Starting in August, Hemisfair – in collaboration with HealthTexas – will now offer a monthly pickleball tournament at Civic Park for players of all levels to participate in.

Players are encouraged to bring their own paddles. Games will be played on a first come, first serve basis. Check in will begin 30 minutes before the event begins at the Civic Park entrance.
