SAN ANTONIO — Three men, believed to be brothers, are facing charges for assault on two police officers at a scene, SAPD says.
The attack happened Monday in the 1200 block of Bandera Road. According to an SAPD report, officers were called out for an "EMS in trouble" call. When officers arrived, they found a man interfering with an EMS paramedic who was helping a woman who had a medical episode. When officers tried to have the man back away, two other men interfered and all three attacked the officers.
The two officers had minor injuries. One of them dislocated a shoulder and was taken to the hospital for treatment.
The suspects were identified as Michael Barrientes Vela, 21, Anthony Librado Barrrientes Vela, 25, and Carlos Barrientes Vela, 29. All three are facing charges of assault on a peace officer.
The brothers are sons of former Bexar County Constable Michelle Barrientes Vela, who was found guilty of tampering with records related to falsifying payment logs for a local park.
Police are still investigating this incident.
