'Shocking but no surprise' I Three men shot in what police called a 'gun battle' in northwest-side karaoke bar parking lot

Orlando Garcia, who owns Longhorn Truck Accessories, came to work to his business peppered with bullet holes and shattered glass.

SAN ANTONIO — Three men were shot late Tuesday night in what police are saying was a "gun battle" in the parking lot of a northwest side karaoke bar.

San Antonio Police responded to Dad's Karaoke Bar, located in the 2600 block of Mossrock near Vance Jackson Road, around 11:49 p.m. Tuesday for reports of a shooting in progress.

When police arrived they found evidence of multiple shots fired and one victim in his 30s, who had been shot in the leg. He was taken to University Hospital in stable condition.

Police say that it appears a fully automatic weapon was used by the suspects involved in the shootout. Officers located cash and weapons at the scene.

Police laid out more than 50 evidence markers, indicating the intensity of the shootout. Multiple cars were riddled with bullet holes and a business across the street was also impacted.

"Saw the news this morning and saw that it was my building," said Orlando Garcia, owner of Longhorn Truck Accessories.

Garcia, who's been in business 26 years, said the area has become more dangerous in recent years. He's suspected drug deals happening in the parking lot before. Hearing about Tuesday night's shooting didn't come as a surprise. But he believes police must do more to increase patrols in the vicinity.

“Shocking but no surprise. We’ve been noticing a lot of late night activity out here and then even in broad daylight you’ll see some very suspicious activity," Garcia said.

Officers say the victim did not provide very many details to help them with their investigation.

Around the same time, police say that two men showed up at Methodist Hospital, one had two gunshot wounds and the other one had been shot at least 13 times.

Police were able to locate a vehicle that was possibly involved crashed near I-10 with weapons inside that line up with the crime scene at the karaoke bar. Police say that vehicle matches one seen driving away from the scene of the gun battle.

Police suspect this might have been a "drug deal gone bad."  Officers plan on reviewing security footage of nearby businesses to try and learn more. The crime scene remains under investigation.

No other information was provided by police.

This is a developing story.
