SCHERTZ, TEXAS – Most of us have heard of “Elf on the Shelf,” but in the City of Schertz an Elf named Samson is on the loose away from his seat. Samson’s adventures began about a week ago when he left his shelf and “came out to play while the City Hall staff was away.”
“This time of year most of our residents are focused on the holiday season,” City if Schertz Public Affairs Director Linda Klepper said, “so we wanted to promote the City's departments in a way that would really resonate with folks on social media.”
Samson the Elf loose in Schertz
So far, Samson has visited the city’s finance and human resource departments, the public library, an ambulance, and a pool within Parks and Recreation. Each stop has its own clever riddle or rhyme to go with the picture.
“Once we determined that an Elf on a Shelf series was the way to go,” Klepper said, “we began drafting riddles and rhymes for each post to tie in the nostalgia of classic Christmas stories.”
