Two bodies found at far south Bexar County home, BCSO says

Officials called it a “heartbreaking” scene for family members who came to check on their relatives after asking BCSO for a welfare check earlier in March.

SAN ANTONIO — Two bodies were found inside a home in far south Bexar County on Tuesday afternoon, according to officials with BCSO.

Bexar County Sheriff's Office deputies responded to the 15900 block of Martinez Street, near South Flores Street, around 10 a.m. for reports of multiple DOAs found. Neighbors say the owner of this home is involved in the towing industry and there is usually a lot of activity here at this site.

Officials called it a “heartbreaking” scene for family members who came to check on their relatives after asking BCSO for a welfare check earlier in March. Deputies tried to gain access in the month of March, but no one answered the door. They called out on the loudspeaker and tried their phone, but no success in reaching anybody.

Relatives came back Tuesday and essentially broke down the door to gain access. That's when the bodies of two men were discovered inside the home.

The bodies of the two men were identified by medical examiners as 73-year-old Francisco Eduardo Gonzalez and 43-year-old Moses Gonzalez.

Medical examiners ruled Francisco Eduardo Gonzalez's death a homicide while Moses Gonzalez's death was ruled a suicide. Both men died of gunshot wounds to the head.

A weapon was found in that same bedroom.

Sadly, both bodies were in a state of decomposition. Officials say they had both been dead for some time.
