Two families displaced after fire in their northeast-side townhome

The American Red Cross is working to relocate the two families.

SAN ANTONIO — Two families have been displaced from their townhomes by an early morning fire on the northeast side of town, officials say.

San Antonio firefighters responded to the 6800 block of Oldham Road near Walzem Road around 1:10 a.m. Wednesday, for reports of a fire.

Everyone made it out safely, according to officials. SAFD believes the cause of the fire was electrical. It was located in the firewall between the two townhomes.

The damages are estimated to be between $50,000 and $60,000. Firefighters from Bexar County, Converse and Windcrest battled te blaze.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.

This is a developing story.
