Man in serious condition after being stabbed during altercation on the west side

The suspect allegedly hit the man with a beer can and proceeded to stab him in the side of the chest.

SAN ANTONIO — San Antonio police are investigating a stabbing that happened on the city’s west side Monday afternoon.

Police say two men believed to be in their 30s got into a fight on the corner of Guadalupe Street and Hamilton Avenue. That’s when the suspect allegedly hit the male with a beer can and then stabbed him in the side of the chest.

The man was taken to University Hospital in serious condition.

Police say it is unknown as of now what the fight was about. Police have not said what charges may be filed after the incident.

Officers searched for the suspect but couldn't find him.

This is a developing story.
