PEARSALL, Tx. -- Pearsall police have been rounding up all the adults in this single-wide trailer, where 18-month old baby Angel was found with broken ribs, missing toe nails and signs of sexual abuse.

Pearsall Police Chief Henry Martinez said, An 18-month-old kid cannot speak for himself. So, that s what we re trying to do. We re trying to speak for him. And we re going to get to the bottom of this.

Twenty-four year old Irene Contreras was picked up in last week and charged with injury to a child. Her boyfriend s mother and aunt were picked up Thursday: 61-year old Maria and35-year old Annabelle Galvan.

Police say the pair of women lived in the mobile home too... and given that many of the baby s injuries showed signs that the abuse happened over time, must have known about it.

Martinez added, They either saw it happen or knew what was going on, and they didn't do anything to prevent any kind of injury from being committed on the child, or report it, or even care.

Pearsall authorities say there s an arrest warrant issued for 37-year old Abel Galvan the mother s boyfriend.

We have some good leads and a lot of people looking for him, said the chief.

As for the other children removed from the home, Child Protective Services has been placing the kids with other adults outside of that address.
