Two National Guardsmen are dead following rollover accident in Laredo

Laredo police confirmed to KGNS that the younger man died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

LAREDO, Texas — Two members of the National Guard in Texas are dead after a car accident in Laredo Monday, police said.

The single-car accident was repoted around 1:30 a.m., according to KGNS in Laredo.

A 27-year-old passenger was thrown from a Ford F-150, and the 21-year-old driver attempted to perform CPR but was unable to revive him, KGNS reported.

Shortly after that, witnesses said the driver took his own life. Laredo police confirmed to KGNS that the younger man died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

The incident is under investigation.
